I was a little out of my depth ( 😁 ) with all of the dev nerds at the Machine Learning Society, but it was interesting people discussing hard topics rather than dumbing it down.
Two things that I’ll take with me:
Axel Tidemann talked about the machine learning approach and stack at takealot.com. Really interesting how they layer it across the product from fulfilment, search and throughout the product and different products. He said something like “AI hallucinates all the time, hallucination isn’t a bug, it’s a feature of how they work” which was a great summary.
Dino Bernicchi said (to a mostly developer audience) that the future of a developer was uncertain, you have more longevity as a developer with AI but a product designer is where you should be aiming. This resonates with me (probably because it means my livelihood is safeguarded 😉 ), but there is facility in understanding the customer, building for them and tying all of the strands together.
My first time to this meetup, but not the last
