Amazon has launched a pilot program with Rufus, a “shopping assistant”. It looks at reviews, product attributes, Q and A’s ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ web data to help you find the right product.

What seems cool to me is that they’re not just limiting it to the purchase questions, but also the broader top of the funnel shopping type questions like โ€œwhat to consider when buying headphones?โ€. I’d love to understand the process behind how people shop using an app like this (I’m sure Amazon’s data scientists will have a field day digging into understanding the questions).

I was talking about site search last week, but this is the first foray into a different AI powered world of finding products. I’m expecting a lot more in this space, and as a customer I think it’ll be super helpful.
