The evolving role of AI in book writing fascinates me as we at Now Novel help authors to write their stories. But as technology advances, we face a question: Where does the writer end, and where does the influence of AI begin?
𝐀𝐈 & 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲:
While AI can assist in generating content, the end product can lack the authentic voice of the author no matter how good your prompting is. The book then becomes more about technology’s capabilities than an author’s vision (However, I think there are many shades of grey in how AI is used)
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠:
An average book on the Kindle store gets fewer than 100 purchases and between 400 to 500 views. For an author who has dedicated months, or even years, to their work, these numbers can be disheartening.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐦:
The Kindle store’s new limit of publishing three books a day seems excessive. Realistically, how can an author produce three quality works daily? Such policies will flood the market with subpar content, making it difficult to find the good stuff.
In the dance between technology and creativity, finding the right balance is essential, I think there is even more of a challenge for writers in building their platform and selling their work in the AI era.
