I love Seinfeld. My mom had all of the DVD’s and would watch them on repeat.I’m intrigued to understand his craft; even though he’s painfully rich he still sweats it doing lots of standup and writing everything out in longhand on yellow legal pads.
But as a committed member of the get it done camp I wonder about the statement “if you’re efficient you’re doing it the wrong way. The right way is the hard way”. My philosophy is more, “done is better than perfect” and constant optimisation.
I wonder – What if Seinfeld’s insistence on ‘the hard way’ clashes with the quest for efficiency? Is there a balance to be found? I’d love to hear your take on this. Can these ideologies co-exist, or is it a matter of choosing one path over the other?
