Fun at work?

Work shouldn’t be just about earning a crumb.
If its just working to make money then your day-to-day life is going to be pretty dry.

Mark Twain said; ” Work and play are words used to describe the same thing under differing conditions.”

To me there has to be a sense of learning, of fun, of working through hard problems irrespective of whether you win the lottery off the back of them.

My colleague at Now Novel (and coincidentally my wife) is a great proponent of this. One example is Magic Rainbow Unicorns. Dagmar Timler created a Chrome extension to make Google Docs more colourful and fun, she extended it to Google Slides and it’s been downloaded by 29MM people.
There are no KPIs involved, no venture capitalist is handing over $$$, its simply a fun and interesting way to stretch yourself and learn more in your domain.
