Great data on where people abandon forms. I’ve seen password issues too many times. Creating and filling password seems intuitive, but here are some of the top errors I see:
– lack of clarity and complexity on password structure (e.g. special characters, numbers, upper/lower case letters) that are only communicated after the first incorrect attempt
– hidden input of what you’ve filled in makes it difficult to know if you’ve done the right thing
– poor error messages don’t help you through the process
– general user frustration around passwords (Which password did i use? which version of it did I use? Can I even be bothered to log in now?)
It’s strange that such a crucial (and seemingly simple) part of a site causes so many issues.
