
When we look at AI and the future a lot of people think about robot overlords and revolutionising the way we work perspective. What if the reality is a little more prosaic?
Walmart has increased employee productivity by 15%, how?
They use cameras on automated floor scrubbers to take pictures of the shelves (20MM pictures a day). There pictures look at shadows and stacking to get an idea of stock. They can then ensure that things don’t go out of stock on shelves and items are restocked directly from the warehouse to the right aisle.
